Target Audience Research (Vanity Fair)
Donna Magazine Target Audience:
Donna magazine's target audience are lower to upper middle class women of all races and education statuses aged 18-50 years old, leaning more to women aged 18-30. (Younger Millennials to older Gen Z).
These women are usually characterized as having a taste for the luxurious as well as having an interest in social and political issues that plague modern day industries. (racism, sexism, classism etc.)
Our target audience ideally has strong political beliefs founded on feminist ideas, and are somewhat educated on current events and movements.
Social Events:
Social Media:
Like many other magazines and businesses, Vanity Fair has an Instagram with 639 thousand followers, and a Twitter account with a grand total of 4.9 million followers.
Their presence on social media is large, and whenever they post, it's on their newest issue of their magazine or about breaking news/current events, much like Vogue magazine's Instagram and Twitter. Also similar to Vogue, Vanity Fair highlights important events and people on their twitter, which is helpful to reach out to younger audiences that are more politically involved.
Application of Techniques:
I think that I would like to make use of Vanity Fair's political usage of Twitter to connect with my target audience, as it includes the younger generation that is generally more technologically advanced. This would also be useful because it would match with the theme and overall message of my magazine, which is politically involved.
